It was in 1947 that Marisa Foods first opened its doors as a neighborhood Italian delicatessen called Santa Fe Importers. We began producing authentic Italian sausage, and in time, began supplying local restaurants and caterers with quality Italian meat products and grated cheeses.

Our goal has always been to produce premium quality products with a high value for the consumer. Since 1947 we have increased our product lines, while always striving to attain high standards of quality and service. Our products are made using state-of-the-art equipment, and our standards for sanitation and food safety meet or exceed those of the U.S.D.A.

We are meticulous about our products—insisting on lean, fresh meats and the best spices and produce. We insist on great taste and consistent quality with all of our products. In addition, we have the capacity to co-pack and customize items for further processing.

Quality Control and Food Safety 

At Marisa Foods we are committed to producing quality food products that are safe and healthy. Our company has programs, systems, and technology in place to cover all aspects of food safety. We are a registered FDA (Food and Drug Administration) food processing facility and operate a federally inspected USDA meat plant. Our systems include all pre-requisite programs for Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) including Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP), programs for the reduction and elimination of potential food-borne pathogens, and food defense controls. We have a fully implemented HACCP program with trained and certified food-safety and quality-control staff. Marisa Foods uses certified outside labs for all food safety testing, research, and Certificates of Analysis (COA). In addition, we conduct annual third-party audits to verify and validate that our systems are working to provide our customers with the quality and safety that they demand for their own customers.
